10k handicap race
The club’s inaugural 10k handicap took place on 29 October 2017. In cold and windy conditions, 31 Striders took on the challenging undulating course in Stevenage.
First home was Richard Liversidge who was followed by the ever improving Tracy Norris and Russ Andrews. The quickest lady on the day was Tracy Bullot closely followed by Lisa Liversidge. The quickest man was Mark Dunn who was only 1 second ahead of James Hunter.
The club handicap 10k will become an annual competition within the club.

The race starts on the cycleway opposite Chells Way and heads along the cycleway, joining Verity Way before turning left into Martins Way. Following the cycleway all the way until it joins gunnels wood road. The route passes Buildbase and Fira before dog legging through the underpass and past Airbus. Turns left to follow the cycleway past the leisure park entrance, turning left to go between the police station and railway station. Turning right the route heads along the cycleway turning through the underpass by the swimming pool to avoid road crossings, past grace way, Lonsdale road and Webb rise before finishing at the turn towards Hampson Park on the corner of Mobbsbury School.
water will be provided at 5k. The course is mildly undulating.
